Description
Macaco is similar to a handstand walkover, except the capoeirista starts with one hand placed behind the body and the initial movement begins from a low squat. Macaco starts by lowering the body and placing one hand on the floor just behind the back. The other hand swings over the body while jumping with both legs to drive the hips straight above the head. This backward sweeping motion resembles a swimmer doing backstroke. As the capoeirista passes through handstand, the second hand touches the ground before the first leg lands.
