Description
S-Dobrado is the general name for a series of low moves in which the capoeirista swings one foot on the floor in a semicircle, then kicks the legs up, flips onto the hands, lands back on the feet, and stands. The S refers to the shape traced by the leading foot. It is used as a transitional move, with many S-Dobrado variations. A basic S-Dobrado may start from negativa, swing the extended leg in a semicircle to face the other direction, and kick up into a macaco. Another variation passes through corta capim before kicking up into macaco. While inverted, the capoeirista may do an aú, stop in bananeira, or drop into queda de rins. It is a highly versatile technique.
