Description
A bridge with the stomach facing up and hands and feet pressing to keep the back arched and off the floor. Most learn to roll into a bridge by turning the legs and hips first, then flipping into bridge. The capoeirista may then roll into cocorinha, queda de rins, or resistência for a smooth entry into the roda. The bridge also works as a last-resort esquiva, depending on skill level, style, and game speed.
